Managed departmental budget, communications programs. Used media relations to support sales staff and to position Arlington as a premier leisure/business destination for Texas and national markets; as principal media liaison and spokesperson, traveled throughout Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Arkansas to appear on radio and TV to promote Arlington tourism. Attended client trade shows in North America, South America, Asia.

Served on American Institute of Architects Rural Urban Design Assistance Team in February 1994 to analyze economic development issues in Las Cruces, NM, serving as tourism marketing consultant. Our team met with community leaders and presented a report with analysis and recommendations to revitalize downtown Las Cruces.

Collaborated with local attractions and ad agency on campaigns for family getaway promotions in target markets. Wrote quarterly column for CEO; wrote and edited newsletters, news releases, PSAs, video scripts; board reports.

Spoke to civic groups and schools; directed photo shoots, videos, collateral creation, and wrote website content. Conducted media training for staff and hospitality community. Liaison to Texas Film Commission, member of D/FW Regional Film Commission, DFW Area Tourism Council, and Associate Member of Society of American Travel Writers. Staff liaison to 1999 Mission Statement Board Committee.
